Brain Function Improvement: A new study shows that, in people who are experiencing dementia or impaired cognition, the flavonol in cocoa can improve blood flow in the brain and improve cognition. And the good news is that milk chocolate may be equally effective as dark chocolate for this benefit. No effects were seen in people without mental impairments so if you don' t have this problem, you can't use this excuse for your choco-addiction, sorry.
Skin Moisture: Dark chocolate contains iron and vitamins that repair dry skin and leave it moisturized so that big smile it puts on your face is not the only improvement to your countenance provided by chocolate!
UV Protection: The flavonols in chocolate help protect your skin from sunburn and damage from ultraviolet rays, and although it is no substitute for sunscreen, a little extra protection can't hurt, right?
Wrinkle Reduction: In addition to reducing stress, chocolate's calming effects also decrease stress hormones which break down collagen and cause wrinkles, and so eating chocolate can prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
Hair Growth Promotion: Dark chocolate also contains minerals such as copper, zinc and iron which promote cell renewal and increase blood flow to the scalp, thereby helping to give you longer locks!
So if you had any guilt about your addiction to chocolate, you can now throw that away with the wrapper!
